Simona Halep e campioană la Wimbledon 2019. A jucat incredibil, și-a uluit adversara - redutabila Serena Williams - prin forță și încredere și a îndeplinit cel mai mare vis al mamei ei, să câștige acest turneu. A fost aclamată din tribune de capete încoronate și a cunoscut-o inclusiv pe Kate, prințesa ei favorită. Când revine în țară și ce urmează pentru Simona Halep

Simona Halep a obţinut al doilea său titlu de Grand Slam după unul dintre cele mai bune meciuri din carieră: o victorie în doar 55 de minute în faţa fostului lider mondial, Serena Williams, devenind astfel primul român câştigător la Wimbledon. Numărul 7 mondial - și numărul 4 de luni - a pierdut un singur set în drumul către al doilea titlu de Grand Slam, în faţa Mihaelei Buzărnescu, în turul al doilea.

Simona a obținut primul său titlu de Grand Slam în 2018, la Roland Garros. Halep a jucat sâmbătă cea de-a cincea finală de Grand Slam, după trei la Roland Garros şi una la Australian Open, și s-a impus în faţa uneia dintre cele mai bune jucătoare din istoria tenisului, Serena Williams.

Americanca are în palmares şapte titluri la Wimbledon şi 23 de Mare Şlem. Williams a jucat anul trecut finala la All England Club.

Pe lângă cel de-al doilea trofeu de Mare Șlem din carieră, după titlul de anul trecut de la Roland Garros, românca a dat și cea mai importantă lovitură financiară din carieră. Simona a intrat în posesia unui cec în valoare de aproape 3 milioane de dolari și a ajuns la un total de 33 de milioane de dolari acumulați din tenis. Halep ocupă deja locul 5 în ierarhia premiilor din toate timpurile în tenis.
